Weirckx Residence

The concept was to unify as one three previously-existing rooms, creating a kitchen space in proportion to the large and gracious rooms of the modern 4,000 square foot residence. The new kitchen flows seamlessly into the family and dining rooms, providing for a large and inviting entertainment space. Principle design elements in this renovation include the installation of a large skylight with a grid pattern of ceiling beams to lend a contemporary feel, new exterior windows to bring the river properly indoors, and interior windows of sandblasted glass to add detail and bring natural light further into the interior spaces. A simple colour palette of complimentary colours infuses the space with a sense of light and energy.
